Hi, my names Anila and I only got into art epoxy Resin towards the end of 2019. My journey with Art began at a young age and I had studied Fine Art in College. I then went on to do a Degree in Chemistry and a Masters in Forensic Science which left me very little time to be creative.
While job hunting, I started to get back in touch with art resin for crafting and created Stained Glass Jars, Mandalas and Acrylic Pours to pass the time. The craft world is saturated with amazingly talented people so my goal was to make something that was just a little bit different. Eventually, my work started building up and I ended up giving most away to family and friends as gifts. Mid-2019, I finally took the plunge to open an Etsy Store. I decided to call it Rayra Arts. ‘Rayra’ was actually a nickname for my cat but after doing some research it turns out it means ‘blessing’.
I was first introduced to crystal craft resin when I was creating Acrylic Pours; Artists would often varnish their paintings with art resin. The thought of using resin initially terrified me but I loved the versatility of it. It took over a year for me to take the plunge and finally purchase some epoxy resin and I loved it from the get go! At first, I would just top-coat my paintings and then I moved onto creating coasters, pyramids and recently, I have entered the world of Resin Geodes.
I crystal clear epoxy resin almost daily and am always learning something new about this amazing medium. I’m excited to see where my journey with art and resin will end up but I’ll make sure I have fun during it!
